STRINGS
To close bundles of specimens.
CARDBOARDS
Corrugated cardboards. The corrugations should run widthways if the cardboards are used as ventilators in the plant press .
NEWSPAPERS
Unmounted specimens lay inside newspapers sheets. They can be used as an alternative to drying paper while drying plants.
MOUNTING PAPER
Type: 100% rag (100% cotton), or chemical wood pulp. Matt surface (aka “NOT”). Buffered to prevent acid migration.
Paper should be sulphur-free. Avoid ground and mechanical wood pulp.

TRANSLUCENT PAPER
Type: semi-transparent and acid-free.
TRANSLUCENT PACKETS
Type: semi-transparent and acid-free.
TRANSPARENT SLEAVES
Type: polyester.
PAPER CAPSULES (ENVELOPES)
Type: Acid free
PAPER CLIPS
Type: brass paper clips, continual-loop plastic clips or no-tear metal clips.
INK AND PENCILS
Ink: black, permanent and water-resistant.
Pencils: HB, 2B or F.
ADHESIVES
One of the following:
Starch paste, PVA, Methyl cellulose.
TAPES
Linen tape
Polyester tapes
White acid free paper (used with adhesives).
